This radio has serious issues…Just ONE day of operations3-4 hrs and it was super HOT
Second issue is that there was noshutdown happening …
and if this matters to anyone – app asks for access to your phone data.

Looks like a winner! I’m sure it will sell well. But I would miss the skip scan, and new laws here in PA might make VOX a legal necessity when being used in a moving vehicle. I’ll stick with the Randy.

In reply to Samuel Gill. The VR-N7500 operates on vehicle DC power, like other mobile radios. It includes a mobile power cord to hard wire into your vehicle.

Whats DC supply it needs ?
I understand power cable is attached with radio but it runs on DC – right?

I have no problem letting operators put up an antenna to use their radio for communications. One antenna per house is not unreasonable especially for emergency operations. HOA’s go way too far at times. I will never live in a HOA. Can’t have this, can’t have that, gotta paint certain colors, can’t park in your own driveway or in front of your own home and many other BS rules. Guess the HOA needs to pay the mortgage on those homes being since they think they own them.

Most of the time, this is overthinking the problem. 99% of the time, the one you get the best reception of will be the one that is most relevant to your location.

Canada’s weather service also broadcasts weather on the same channels that NOAA uses. If you’re near the border, you may be able to receive those in addition to or instead of the NOAA stations, and they may be more relevant to your location. (Just remember that the temperatures are given in Celsius.). For example, I was only able to receive the Canadian broadcasts when I visited Lubec, Maine.

Quick question. I got this to work (eventually) but my issue was not the drivers or software. I found by Accident that I have to hold the connector to the Wouxun KG-Q10G with some slight pressure to make a connection. I have two of these radios and problem on both. I suspect it may be a connection inside the cable. Thoughts?
